There was none like him, He was known as King of all. Once he was attacked and wounded, his attacker thought he was dead so he left. The attacker was a large ugly creature that resembled a Jackal. He laughed hideously loud. It sounded like children crying and people in agony, with their voices going up and down, shaking as one who can’t catch his breath. He was known as the prince of the power of the Air. After a while he sent back a few of his offspring. They looked and laughed just like him. They were to make sure the King was dead and if He wasn’t they were to stay there and pester Him until He was. They were to laugh, condemn and shame Him. They all danced, jumped around and around Him with their shrill screaming-crying’s. Suddenly, the Great Lion stood and roared so loud that it covered the sound of the screaming’s. The jackals jumped back in fear, running, but not fast enough. A great paw came around and killed them all. At a distance the king of the jackals screamed in horror at the sight of his offspring’s violent death. He swore to torment and kill all the Great Lion’s offspring forever. The Jackal disguised himself as a beautiful Lion to fool the Great Lion’s offspring. His looked like sweet innocent lion cubs, but inside were deceiving jackals. He sent them throughout the land of Air with orders to seek, kill and destroy all the Great Kings’ offspring.

One day there was a young man that came skipping down a narrow country road in the land of Air. He was blowing a Trumpet; the sound was so beautiful that everyone stopped from their work just to listen. When he played, their worries would leave and seem so small. Everyone loved him and would wait expectantly for him to come. The sound seemed to have a message with it. It gave you a feeling of Hope. There was a beautiful house off to itself along the way. It was nestled among the trees and rose gardens. There were children playing in the yard, they looked lovely in their fine clothes. They made a great impression. The young man that had come to be known as, “The Trumpeter”, gazed at the house. He could see right through the walls. As the children, would come into the house, they would transform into laughing, screaming jackals, fighting and spitting on each other. The father of the house heard the Trumpet, cringed and jammed his fingers into his ears. He was a hideous looking creature, black with gray spots. Everything about him was dark. They would only allow their children to watch dark movies on TV. He headed for the front door as he went through into the yard, he was transformed into a beautiful lion. In his smooth stride and every hair slicked back just perfect, he approached “The Trumpeter”. “Good sir, what is the tune you are playing” asked Mr. lion? “Why its name is “Forever Hope” replied “The Trumpeter”. “But sir my neighbors already have hope and I’m sure your tune hurts their ears, for you know I play as well to my neighbors. Quite beautifully, if I do say so myself”. “And what is the name of your tune”, asked “The Trumpeter”? “Why its name is “My Hope”. So, you see we play the same tune” Mr. Lion said smiling. “The Trumpeter” than said, “Do you play in your house to your children”? “Oh, yes, you can see how content they are” Mr. Lion replied. “I have a large farm and I supply jobs for all my neighbors, and you can see how content they are also”. “Then why is it that all your neighbors stop their work to listen to my tune of Hope”? replied “The Trumpeter”. Mr. Lion Said, “Why, I feed and clothe them. I let them charge food in my store which is the only one in town. Can’t you see they love me”? I bring them hope I am their only hope and they know it”. “So, you want them to look and dress just like you, to be as wealthy as you are and to aspire to have what you have, a fine home, wonderful kids and all”? answered “The Trumpeter”. “Why yes” said Mr. Lion, smiling sickly sweet. “The Trumpeter” replied “Do your kids spit on each other and have black and gray spots, Mr. Lion”? Suddenly, Mr. Lion began to froth at the mouth, his hair began to turn gray with black spots and his eyes turned blood red. Steam seemed to come from his nostrils. He began to metamorphosize right before his neighbors very eyes. Mr. False Hope, Mr. Lions brother-in-law, came flying out of his house, to come to Mr. Lions defense. “Calm down Mr. Lion”, he said. “You are scaring your beloved neighbors”. Mr. Lion whirled around, taking a swipe with his claws, ripping Mr. False Hope’s face. “The Trumpeter” raised his trumpet and began to play loudly, “Forever Hope”. Mr. Lions’ and False Hope’s children came roaring out of their houses, screaming to attack “The Trumpeter”. They cried, spit and cursed “The Trumpeter” with all the anger they could muster. The tune “Forever Hope” pierced the darkness like a great tightening storm. He began marching down the narrow road filling the air with hope. All the neighbors dropped their farm tools and came running after “The Trumpeter”. They danced and sang to His tune, words they had not known. “On this solid rock, I stand, all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand. My Hope is in nothing less than Jesus Christ and His Righteousness”. Mr. Lion screamed after “The Trumpeter”, “You can’t have my minions, I mean my people, they love me. I give them many free subsidies and food”. “They are my slaves, I mean my loved ones”. He could hardly speak he was slobbering and spitting so much. Continuing he said, “You are giving these people false hope and I will oppose everything you do and everything you say”. At that he turned to Mr. False Hope and his children and gave them the same orders, adding one other thing. “Never let him out of your sight, harass Him and His children forever”.

“The Trumpeter” walked across this great country named Air. Playing his beautiful song “Forever Hope”. He was sent on his journey by the “Great Lion, King of All”. People would follow his message of Hope. He would become the President of this great land called “air”. A hope would rise that was so real that you could touch it. The Great King would again hear His song of Hope sung throughout His kingdom.

The King of the Jackals would recruit many people who would follow his deceitful lies and wage war against “The Trumpeter” and His message of Hope. They would spit on Him and curse Him and his family, but to no avail. Forever Hope has great strength and stamina, and the Great King stands with them.

The jackal hates everything the Great King and His people do. He deceives and then trains our neighbors to do the same. A trained jackal is one that is against God. “A Trumpeter” can see right through a jackal’s house, his black and gray spots, his spitting, cursing’s and fighting’s. If you find yourself doing the same things, reject the jackal and embrace “Forever Hope”. The jackal does not own you, or your neighbors he just deceives you. Begin to sing, “My Hope is in nothing less than Jesus Christ and His Righteousness. And follow Jesus, “The Great Trumpeter”.

David McClary

Avoicefromthemountain.com

Add your e-mail to the subscribe box on my website and get all new post on your phone.

“The Jackal” and “The Trumpeter” — There was a great Lion that roamed through a land called Air.
